What is the AFSA International Convention?

The AFSA International Convention affords AFSA MEMBERS the opportunity to conduct AFSA business (elections, platforms, and meetings), where the course of action for the coming year will be determined. During the caucus, AFSA delegates can hear from candidates and ask questions as to how they may represent AFSA at the International level if elected.

My Government issued credit card won't work

We are being told that some are experiencing issues when attempting to process the GTC for special event functions. According to merchant services (the financial processor on our end), there appear to be restrictions placed on some members’ cards. In cases where members are experiencing these types of issues, members should call the card issuer (citi), explain what’s happening, check to see if there are restrictions, and if there are, ask that they be removed. NOTE: Pls give the issuer the merchant category code (MCC): 8699

When does the registration booth open?

The on-site registration booth opens on August 9th at Noon. 

Which PEDS Track is for me?

When registering for the PEDS, choose the PES or the PDS. Please review the descriptions below before making your final selection:  

  • Professional Education Symposium (PES): Badge or Certificate-based Educational opportunities, sponsored by our partnered colleges and universities that are committed to giving back to Active, Guard, Reserve, Veteran, DoD employees, and their families at NO COST.
  • Professional Development Symposium (PDS): A consolidation of over 24 hours of deliberate Professional and Personal Development opportunities targeted for Airmen, Guardians, DoD civilians, and their families at NO COST.

AFSA Members: Business Attire
Military Personnel on funded TDY orders: Uniform of the Day
SKYHIGH/HighFLIER and/or TwinFLIER Club Members: AFSA Blue Blazer/Business attire unless Active Duty Military (encouraged to wear service dress uniform).


 

Special Event Attire
International President’s Dinner & the Air & Space Honors Banquet

Gentlemen: Tuxedo or Dark Suit and Tie
Ladies: Formal evening wear (long or short)
Military Personnel on funded TDY: Mess Dress or Semi-Formal Uniform

What is the Info/Expo: Exhibit & Sponsors?

If you are a professional representative for a company, association, organization or institute of learning that supports military members and their families – then YOU must join us at the SUMMIT24! With over 3,000 event guests in attendance, this is a premier EXPO that provides you with flexible exhibit times, a lot of guest face time opportunities, encouragement to participate in professional and personal development opportunities, and creative ways to sponsor and get a bright spotlight on you and your company.

EXHIBIT HALL HOURS (Note, as this is a live event, times may change. We encourage you to be flexible and have fun!)

  • Friday, August 9th: Exhibitor Set-up begins at 12 noon, with a soft opening at 4pm.
  • Saturday, August 10: Open 11 am with a formal GRAND OPENING at 5pm to 7pm with the Theme Party starting at 6pm.
  • Sunday, August 11: 11 am to 1:30 pm, and 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm with the International President’s Dinner reception at 6pm.
  • Monday, August 12: 10am to 1:30 pm, and 4:30 to 7pm with the Air & Space Honors Banquet reception at 6pm.
  • Tuesday, August 13: 9 am to 12 noon, and 2:30 to 5 pm.
  • Wednesday, August 14: 9 am to 12 noon and 2:30 to 5 pm.
  • Thursday, August 15: 9 am to 12 noon, and 2:30 to 5:00 pm – NEW!
  • Friday, August 15: 9 am to 1 pm – Take-down at 1:30 pm – NEW!
